Refund policy

Refund policy

All refund requests must be made within the control panel under HelpTrouble Tickets. Select “Billing” as your ticket subject. E-mail requests are not honored.

New accounts

Hosting charges are 100% refundable within 60-days from the date in which an account signs up.  This includes all monthly payments accrued over this period. Domain registrations are non-refundable. Your domain is your ownership and you will retain the rights to it after the account is closed. Domains may be managed via domains.hostineer.com.

Domains that are bundled for free with hosting will be deducted from the refund. For example, a $50/year account that received a free 1-year domain registration at sign-up and requests a refund on day 59 will be refunded $50 – $10 (domain cost) = $40.

Existing accounts

All payments are automatically recurring. Accounts that are billed at a 6, 12, or 24 month interval are fully refundable within 30 days from the date in which a recurring payment is made. Monthly and quarterly payments are non-refundable.

Refunds outside the 100% refund window

If you request a refund outside the 100% refund window, then a prorated refund will be issued following a simple formula:

(hosting cost / months in term) X full months remaining X 40%

In other words, you will receive 40% of the remaining unspent monthly balance rounded to the next month. For new accounts, domain registrations gifted at sign-up are deducted from this hosting cost.

Example: $50/year account is 92 days into a cycle. The client wishes to close and receive a refund. Three months have elapsed. Client is presently in the fourth month Therefore the client will be issued $50 / 12 months X 8 months X 40% = $4.166 X 8 X 40% = $13.33

What happens next?

Once a refund is issued your account will be deactivated following normal cancellation protocol. Files may not be retrieved once a refund is issued. You are responsible for making a backup of your site before requesting an account closure.
